There is very little that comes across the internet that interests me in the form of a “Forward.” Sometimes I simply delete them, or occasionally, I will open one that appears to be of some interest.
One thing that does irritate me is when I receive a message that at the bottom it will say something like, “if you really love Jesus you will send this to _____ number of people. If not, you will delete it.” It is irritating because: one, it is an attempt to manipulate me and two, it cheapens my relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus once stated “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15. He then said, “You are my friends if you do what I command you.” John 15:14. Jesus commanded us to “love one another,” “serve one another,” “forgive one another,” and to “encourage one another.” He also said that we will be judged in eternity by how we fulfill His word.
I refuse to be manipulated by someone who themselves were compelled to send me a “forward.” Further, I will not let my relationship with Jesus be determined by someone else’s standards. I encourage you to not fall for such manipulation.
Come visit with us Sunday.
