The Secret

To say things in our country are a mess is, frankly, a "no brainer." Stock market continues to slide down and up like a yo yo. Gas prices are sliding downward albeit not nearly as fast as they went up. People are pointing fingers at one another accusing the opposing political party as being responsible for the crisis. One poll said that 65% of the American people would like to toss out every congressman and senator and start over.
I am glad my day to day existence is not tied to any of the things mentioned above. Can you imagine what an emotional roller coaster that would be? You experience fear one day to only have it replaced with euphoria the next and then you are back in the tank on the following day.
The apostle Paul had this to say in Philippians 4:12, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means and I also know how to live in prosperity." His secret is found in the next verse, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." If you want to live a peace-full life, detached from the affairs that are plaguing our country, turn to God. Face it, what you have tried so far hasn’t done you well has it?
Come see us Sunday.
