Minute Message 12/25/04

Jesus

Today is Christmas. It will be filled with opening of gifts, the gathering of family, sharing of a meal, and a reminder that some two-thousand years ago, a child was born in Bethlehem, the city of David. His purpose for coming was to bring salvation to a world that is in desperate need of redeeming.

The plan to send Jesus into the world had its beginning in eternity before the world was created. Thus, when Jesus came, His purpose was set. He was going to the cross, and nothing would alter His destiny.

We sometimes admire Jesus in His less than comfortable manger, and will even worship His arrival. But, unless we remove Him from that environment and make Him a part of our lives, then He will never be able to impact us, and neither will He be able to work a change in us.

Jesus came to change the way we think, the way we act, the way we interact with others and the way we treat ourselves. He came to make your life meaningful. He wants to change your past and to brighten your future. Most importantly, He wants you to enjoy heaven with Him. What difference is He making in your life?

Come worship Him with us Sunday.
