A Bargain

My wife thought she got a good buy. It was 50% off the original price plus another 50% off the marked down price. One would think that was a bargain.

Everyone is looking for a good buy. Advertisers know that people want more for their money and so they spend thousands of dollars attempting to convince the consumer that their product is the one that will fulfill the customer’s wants. Unfortunately it does, for a short while, then the consumer begins searching for a new product that will fulfill their wants all over. On it goes until the person finds himself (or herself) hopelessly buried in debt, and their wants are still unsatisfied.

The best buy is that product that will do all it promises to do at a price you can afford to pay. What is that product? Solomon tells us, "Buy truth and do not sell it." Jesus would later say, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." Truth is that one product that delivers on every promise. But, the price is not cheap. There are sacrifices to be made. However, isn’t it true that anything worth having is going to cost you?

Come see us Sunday.
