Choices

An earthquake has shaken Alaska. According to the news, the earthquake measured 7.9 on the Richter scale and shook communities 270 miles away. It struck Sunday afternoon about 1 p.m. while most people were just lazing around and enjoying some down time before the week began on the next day. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and floods all remind us that no matter how much we have advanced intellectually and technologically, we still are vulnerable. We are helpless at those moments and are subject to becoming victims of nature’s rage. We may even be able to predict when these things are about to take place, but we cannot do anything about it. Though we cannot control those events, there are numerous things we do have control over. We can control how we react to certain matters that are disappointing to us. We can control our emotions and we can control our attitudes. It is called making a choice. Unfortunately we live in a time when individuals are excused from being responsible for improper behavior and they continue acting in ugly ways. God has made it clear, you cannot blame others for how you are, you must accept consequences of your choices, and you must accept responsibility for your actions. Ezekiel 18:19-22.

Come see us Sunday.
