Minute Message : Vacation Publication Date : 8/17/96 By the time you read this, I will have returned from vacation. This is my second trip into the Sisters Wilderness on horseback. I'll not bore you with the details. However I will say that it was a refreshing experience. All of us look forward to the few weeks or days when we can slip away from the yearly grind to be renewed in both spirit and body. Often, with any work, we can become so engrossed in our responsibilities that we don't recognize our bodies are running low on fuel. This is manifested by always seeming tired, restless, a bad attitude or strife either at home, work or both. Getting away helps us to get perspective. we are able to move away form the "what must be done" and to reflect on what we are doing and why. Some find it extremely difficult to get away. They feel the company could not function without them. They may indeed be valuable, but it has been my experiences that when a person of value dies, the company continues on as though nothing happened. When was the last time you left for a vacation? Your family needs you to take one, your co-workers can't wait until you take one, and your body is probably begging for a rest. Take it and be renewed.
