The Book

I confess I have never even opened the Guinness Book of World Records. Some say that is fascinating. Well maybe it is, but at this point in time I find myself drawn to other works. Having said all of that I am somewhat curios about what motivates a person to set records that to me seem so fruitless. One person collected 2561 different brands of chewing gum. One individual was able to hold two Cessna air crafts in his mouth by cables while the planes engines were running at 2400 RPMs for 3 seconds. Another man performed 21,633 tricks with a Yo-yo in three hours and someone else holds the record for the longest apple peel of 52.51 meters. One question comes to mind "So What?" I would hate to think that my life would be defined by some feat that for all practical purposes has not made the world a better place to live, just so that my name would appear in the Guinness Book of World Records One may have his name in the Guinness Book of World of Records but what about the book of life? The one that God will someday open and go in search for your name. Will he find it written there?

Come see us Sunday.
