Trust

The political rhetoric is heating up. As the campaigns come closer to being over, you will hear individuals making promises and saying things about their opponents all in an effort to make you and me vote for them. Whether or not they will be able to persuade you depends on if you trust them. Trust is something that comes with time, knowledge and experiences with an individual. A person can make numerous promises, but if you do not know them, you will have a difficult time trusting them. Further more, if that person has made promises but failed to fulfill them, you will be hesitant to ever trust them again. God is someone you can trust. He does not make a promise He would not keep. He does not change His ways to appease a political party or culture, and He is always faithful to His people even though they are unfaithful to Him. The more you have experiences with God, the more you will find that you can trust Him. One New Testament writer said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He came to that point in his life because he and God had many experiences. Who do you trust?
